WELCOME TO THE 2024

UCA SAMUEL DRIGGERS PIANO FESTIVAL

 

We are excited to hear you play!

Each student will play two pieces.

Students will compete by age group at the UCA Snow Fine Arts building. 

Alternatively, students may choose to enter by video for comments only.

A WINNER AND HONORABLE MENTION WILL BE CHOSEN FROM EACH OF THE AGE GROUPS

 

K-3rd grade

4-6th grade

7-9th grade

10-12th grade

 Winners will also be invited to play in person at a recital hosted by the

Steinway Piano Gallery Little Rock

April 26 at 6:00pm.

 

All students will receive a certificate and adjudication sheet containing the judge's comments and your score. This will be sent to you by email.

 

FESTIVAL GUIDELINES

 

1. Each student will perform two pieces of their choice.

2. Memorization is optional, but highly recommended.

3. All students should number their measures in their score. A copy of each score with the measures numbered should be provided for the judge if you are playing live. If you are submitting videos, use the document scan in the registration below.

4. The festival is open to audience members to listen to the performances. Please be quiet and considerate in the performance rooms.

5. The April 20th festival will be held at UCA in the Snow Fine arts building.

6. The winners recital will be held at the Steinway piano Gallery little rock on Friday, April 26 at 6:00pm.

7. The festival fee is $20 per student, maximum $60 per family

IMPORTANT DATES



Everyone should register online by midnight April 6th.

Videos submission deadline is midnight April 6th

If you choose to perform live, you will be assigned a time on Saturday, April 20th between 8:30 and noon.

Results will be emailed and posted on UCA Piano Facebook Page.

2024 UCA Samuel Driggers Piano Festival Registration

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 

  • Record one video for each repertoire piece.
  • Scan printed score and post it to the link on the registration form. Be sure to include the student's name with each score and number the measures.
  • Edited/processed video will not be accepted. However, separate videos of different pieces or movements are permitted.
  • The applicant's face and hands need to be clearly visible. It would be beneficial to see the feet also to judge pedaling.
  • Content of the video recording must include: Full name of participant, title of the piece, composer, and date of the recording. The content must be indicated in the description of the video or clearly announced in the video. For help uploading your videos to YouTube click the link below:

  • Choose unlisted to keep your video private. You will give us the link, but others cannot see it.
  • Professional recording is not required, but submitted recording should be of reasonable video and audio quality with minimal background noise to ensure meaningful feedback from the judges.
  • Recording should be made no earlier than January 2024
