Alex Polyakov, piano
Alex Polyakov is Assistant Professor of Music at Hendrix College, where he teaches piano and directs the Chamber Orchestra. A Ukrainian-American pianist, conductor, and educator, he is a prizewinner in more than twenty international competitions and has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall, Hill Auditorium, and Bass Performance Hall. Polyakov earned degrees in piano performance and orchestral conducting from the National Music Academy of Ukraine, an Artist Diploma from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in orchestral conducting from the University of Michigan. In addition to his work as a solo pianist, he is an active chamber musician and conductor.
