Tatiana Kotcherguina, viola
Tatiana Kotcherguina is a violist with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and a member of the violin and violafaculty at the University of Central Arkansas. Born and educated in Moscow, Russia, she graduated with honors from the Moscow State Conservatory. She previously served as Principal Violist of the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the Moscow Experimental Opera Theater and taught violin and viola at the Institute of Music & Pedagogy in Moscow. From 1992 to 1999, Kotcherguina lived and taught in Mexico, where she was Associate Principal Violist of the Symphony Orchestra OSUANL and performed extensively as a chamber musician. After moving to the United States, she served as Principal Viola of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and Mississippi Opera. A resident of Little Rock since 2004, she has performed with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and was a member of its Sturgis String Quartet from 2004 to 2010. Her teaching experience in Arkansas has included Henderson State University, UA Little Rock, and the University of Central Arkansas, where she has been on the faculty since 2012. She has also appeared regularly at music festivals and summer programs in the United States, Russia, and Bolivia.
